Meet a Creator - Ajay Kumar
My name is Ajay Kumar, and I belong to Bathinda, Punjab. I am a digital marketing expert with 3 years of experience in this field. My goal was simple: create a tool that supports students, so I started my journey by developing a valuable tool for school life, like the Topper Calculator. I not only aim to build websites, but I focus on developing tools that solve real-life problems, whether for students, parents, or professionals.
The Student Problem No One Talks About
Managing attendance was a real challenge during my student life, especially when I missed classes and had less attendance than required. I knew how to calculate the attendance percentage, but I didn’t know how to calculate the number of classes needed to meet the 75% target. This challenge became a turning point in my academic life and eventually inspired me to build something meaningful.
There is constant pressure to complete 75 percent of school attendance, especially in colleges. It’s often confusing to figure out how many classes you can afford to bunk without dropping below the minimum required percentage.
When I started my journey as a digital marketer, a friend named Krishan Suthar was from a coding background. While working with him, I decided to build a tool for this problem, and afterwards, it became my dream.
This struggle wasn’t unique to me, as many other students face the same issue, unsure how many classes they can safely miss or need to attend.
Realizing the Need for a Better Solution
While finding solutions to this problem, I explored many online tools, but most either lacked essential features or were too complex for students to use easily. Another problem was that they couldn’t calculate the number of classes needed to complete the required percentage. Determined to address this, I partnered with my friend Krishan Suthar, a skilled coder, to develop a solution.
This problem inspired me to create the Topper Calculator, my first major project, which took around five months of dedicated effort from ideation and coding to testing and launch.
